Description
About the Book
“Machine Unlearning” for Technical Developers and AI Researchers is a comprehensive exploration of the emerging field of Machine Unlearning, addressing the critical need for AI systems to selectively forget specific data points while maintaining their overall functionality. As Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine learning (ML) technologies become increasingly integrated into various aspects of modern life, the importance of data privacy, regulatory compliance, and ethical governance has never been more pronounced.
This book serves as a bridge between theoretical research and practical implementation, providing readers with:
- Demystification of Unlearning Algorithms: A systematic breakdown of state-of-the-art Unlearning techniques, including exact and approximate Unlearning methods, differential privacy-based approaches, and data deletion frameworks.
- Integration of Theory and Practice: Code snippets, case studies, and implementation guides that empower developers to incorporate Unlearning mechanisms into real-world AI systems effectively.
- Legal and Ethical Considerations: In-depth discussions on compliance with data protection laws such as GDPR and CCPA, alongside the ethical implications of AI memory retention.
- Future Directions: Insights into open research problems, scalability challenges, and the intersection of Unlearning with federated learning, reinforcement learning, and large language models (LLMs).
Designed for AI/ML engineers, data scientists, cybersecurity experts, and policymakers, this book provides a rigorous yet accessible examination of Machine Unlearning. It aims to equip readers with the knowledge and tools necessary to navigate the complexities of Unlearning in AI, ensuring that systems are not only powerful but also responsible and adaptable to the evolving landscape of data privacy and ethical AI governance.
